First AI course in English: twelve editions in ItalyAIPIA institutional due diligence dossier

International partnerships and collaborations
World Summit AI 2026 · Community Partner. AIPIA is Community Partner of World Summit AI 2026, an international event dedicated to the artificial intelligence ecosystem. The partnership provides for community engagement activities, facilitated access for AIPIA members and the presence of the association in the official list of Community Partners. Elenco ufficiale dei Community Partners.
None of these items is an accreditation or a certification of the association: they are identifiers, participations and endorsements, each with its meaning explained on its own page.
Governance of the association
The bodies are the four provided for by Article 6 of the Statute, among them the Board and the Scientific-Technical Committee. The composition in office, name by name, is published on the Italian page Organi e cariche sociali.
The offices last five years and are renewed with the procedure described on the Italian page Rinnovo degli organi: candidacies proposed by the members with thirty days notice and resolution of the assembly.

Members
AIPIA counts 818 members registered in the members register, figure updated 7 September 2026. The figure, its date and the method with which it is counted are on the Italian page AIPIA in numeri, which is the single source of the public figures.
The European Digital Credentials awarded by AIPIA document a completed training path with its learning outcomes. Their total number, with the date it refers to, is published on the same Italian figures page and in its methodological note: this dossier does not repeat it, so that no stale total survives here.
Matters in progress
The open matters are listed in the Identity and identifiers registry (Italian) and reported here, with the entity. Until a matter is concluded, the site describes it as in progress; when it is concluded, the registry changes first and every page reads it from there.
| Matter | State |
|---|---|

| Codici ISBN dei volumi della collana (Agenzia ISBN Italia) | in progress |

Law 4/2013. AIPIA is a professional association under Italian Law 4/2013. The entry in the list of the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy is a matter in progress: the association publishes the information required by the law and does not describe itself as entered until the entry is public.
The credentials: what they are and what they are not
AIPIA awards European Digital Credentials that document a completed training path, with its learning outcomes: they are verifiable on Europass and signed with an electronic seal. They are not certifications of skills under the UNI 11621-8 standard, which follow the ISO/IEC 17024 scheme and belong to accredited certification bodies, and they are not a proof of compliance with any regulation.
The distinction between attestation, credential and certification, term by term, is on the Italian page Attestazione, credenziale, certificazione.
For verifications and documents
For clarifications, documents on request or a formal verification one writes to the secretariat, segreteria@aipia.it, or to the certified email address aipia@altapec.it. The secretariat replies with the document or with the address where the data is verified.
This dossier is born from a choice of the association: to put in a single place, with the source and the verification address next to each item, what AIPIA declares about itself to those who have to assess it. It does not answer a legal obligation; it answers the question that a counterparty asks before working with an association.
Questions about the due diligence
What is the institutional due diligence dossier of AIPIA?
It is the page that gathers, in a single place, the information that a purchasing office, an institutional partner, a public body or a newsroom verify before working with AIPIA: identity and contacts, the registers in which the association appears, the governing bodies in office, the documents, the members figure and the matters in progress. It also says what its credentials are and are not, and each item carries the address where it can be verified.
Which external registers confirm the existence and the nature of AIPIA?
AIPIA appears with verifiable codes in the GLEIF system (LEI), in the Participant Register and in the Organisation Registration System of the European Commission (PIC and OID), in the Transparency Register of the European Union and in Wikidata, each with the date of the last probe. It is a Participant in the European AI Alliance, an Official Endorser of the Rome Call for AI Ethics, a full member of UNINFO, and it awards European Digital Credentials; each line of the table links to where the data is verified.
What does it mean that AIPIA is a professional association under Italian Law 4/2013?
AIPIA is a professional association constituted under Law 4/2013, the Italian law that regulates the professions not organised in orders or colleges: it means that the association has a statute, a code of ethics, governing bodies, continuing education and a consumer help desk. It publishes the information the law requires; it does not mean a public recognition or a certification of the association.
Who governs AIPIA and how are the offices renewed?
The bodies of AIPIA are the four provided for by Article 6 of the Statute, among them the Board and the Scientific-Technical Committee, and the composition in office of both is published on the Italian page of the bodies and offices. The offices last five years and the renewal follows the procedure described on the Italian renewal page: candidacies proposed by the members with thirty days notice and resolution of the assembly.
Are the credentials awarded by AIPIA certifications?
No: AIPIA awards European Digital Credentials that document a completed training path, verifiable on Europass and signed with an electronic seal; the certification of skills under the UNI 11621-8 standard follows the ISO/IEC 17024 scheme and belongs to accredited certification bodies, which AIPIA is not. The distinction between attestation, credential and certification is explained term by term on the Italian page dedicated to it.
Which matters are in progress and how are they communicated?
The open matters are listed with their state in the Identity and identifiers registry and reported here: among them the entry in the list of the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, the assessment of the entry in the national register of the third sector and the linking of the ISBN codes to the volumes of the AIPIA Studies series, now that the publisher prefix is assigned. Until a matter is concluded the site describes it as in progress; when it is concluded, the registry changes first.
How is a piece of data on this page verified and who is contacted for a clarification?
Each line of the table of registers carries the link to the record of the entity when it is public and responds, otherwise to the public search of the entity where anyone checks the data; the date of the last verification, one for the whole dossier, is at the top of the page. For clarifications, documents on request or a formal verification one writes to the secretariat, or to the certified email address of the association.
